Our criminal legal system is racist, xenophobic, rogue, and fundamentally
broken. It profits from the mass incarceration of black and brown people
and it must be dismantled.

That’s why I introduced the People’s Justice Guarantee. It is a guide for
how we can decarcerate and dismantle our criminal INjustice system and
focus, instead, on building a legal system rooted in justice and
rehabilitation.

But we’re up against entrenched interests and enormous corporations that
will spend big to stop this legislation, because they profit from the
criminalization of poverty and addiction.

back against the private prison corporations who will do everything they
can to block our progress?

Working to dismantle our system of mass incarceration is personal for me
because, like one of every four children in the district I represent, I
grew up with a parent in and out of the legal system. I know, firsthand,
the pain and trauma that causes.

That’s why I will continue to fight to dismantle a system that puts
profits before people, disproportionately impacts low-income people and
people of color, and creates trauma in entire communities. Will you join
me in this movement?

by making a grassroots contribution of any amount that you can afford.

Thank you for your solidarity.
