Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner went on MSNBC to tell us what is really
behind Republicans' crime campaigns. 

When asked by show host Mehdi Hasan why Democrats are struggling to
counter-message against the GOP’s fearmongering campaign on crime, Larry
immediately had an answer:

“I think it’s easy, Democrats gotta stand up, cause this is a nonsense
argument that we can beat.”

And we have the facts on our side. Check it out:

* The murder rate is 40% higher in states led by Republicans than states
led by Democrats 
* 8 of 10 most murderous cities in America are Republican-voting cities
* “Lawlessness” is a dog-whistle, only used against cities with Black
and brown people
* Republicans continue to stop efforts to end gun violence

Republicans are spewing lies to try and counter the facts — and we saw
that they were successful in San Francisco against former DA Chesa
Boudin.

We saw conservative mega donors build an entire multi-million dollar
campaign to overturn the work of Chesa. And that time, they won. 

If we don’t act now, they’ll continue to raise up campaigns like this,
based on lies, in cities across the country.

But the more we can spread the truth, and elect more DAs like Larry who
are going to fight to protect civil rights and pursue justice, the more we
can continue the REAL work to improve public safety, not simply exploit
the idea of it for political points.

Our opponents claim that their attempts to overturn the work of our DAs
are  about safety but really it's another dog-whistle — because as we
know, it’s Black and brown people are the most impacted by mass
incarceration and our DAs who are working to transform this racist system.
