Friend,
We know Greg Abbott is as corrupt as they come, and he never misses an opportunity to prove that to Texans. Turns out our state’s colleges and universities are mostly run by Abbott’s campaign donors. Add your name if you think political appointments should be based on merit, not political favors:

I wish I was surprised that a big donation to Greg Abbott’s campaign is all it takes to sit on the board of regents of the largest university system in the world. But considering Abbott couldn’t care less about public education, it’s no wonder he has no qualms with letting political hacks run our colleges and universities into the ground.
Two-thirds of the folks that run higher education in Texas are Abbott appointees and Abbott donors. And that has real consequences for students and faculty. These people who paid for their spot are the ones who set tuition rates and faculty salaries, approve new degree programs, audit university finances, and hire and fire university presidents. And if they're in Abbott’s pocket, that’s bad news for us.
Abbott’s shady behavior is threatening the integrity of our higher education system. But Friend, we know Abbott’s cronies aren’t just in higher ed. They’re in local government, in state agencies, and in our state legislature. It’s time to put an end to Abbott’s spoils system in Texas. So will you chip in $7 right now to kick him out in 21 days?

Friend, integrity, accountability, and leadership have been missing from our state’s elected officials for far too long. They prove at every turn they don’t deserve to lead our state. Now, it’s time to show them at the ballot box just how true that is.
In service and hope,
