For far too long, banned pesticides used by illegal cannabis growers have poisoned our local ecosystems and put our endangered species further at risk.

These banned pesticides present a serious threat to our environment – not to mention the threat they pose to people who consume cannabis grown with illegal pesticides.

We don’t have time to waste. That’s why I’m not waiting for someone else to take on this problem: I’m tackling it head-on.

This month, I introduced legislation with my colleague, Representative LaMalfa, to raise criminal penalties for using these banned pesticides and provide the Forest Service with everything they need to start cleaning up this toxic waste.
