Hello,
This Nov. 8, our freedoms are on the line: the freedom to vote and have that vote counted, to make a good living, to get the healthcare we need and to join a union, and our children’s freedom to read, learn and thrive. Our democracy is on the ballot, as are public education, Social Security, Medicare, labor rights and pensions. It's vital that we vote, and that we get our communities out to vote as well.
That’s why tomorrow in Green Bay, Wis., I will be kicking off our AFT Votes bus tour. I will join thousands of AFT members who are working to get out the vote and talking to voters to make sure they have a plan to get to the polls to make their voices heard.

We know that our members—teachers, school support staff, nurses, public employees, higher education faculty, graduate workers and more—are trusted messengers and cornerstones of their communities. AFT members know what kids and communities need to achieve a better life. Turning out people to vote is just one more extension of that work.
Together we must show up and vote to elect leaders who share our values and have demonstrated that they’ll stand up for them in office. Click here to learn more about the candidates we’ve endorsed.
There is too much at stake to sit on the sidelines of this election. I know I can count on you to join us and vote. Your vote will help ensure a better life for all.
In unity,
Randi Weingarten
AFT President
