2019 has been a year like no other: while attacks on abortion access from the federal and many state governments dominated in the media, 2019 was indeed a watershed year for securing crucial, history-making victories at the state and local level.

Recognizing the urgency of the moment, many champions of reproductive freedom stepped up, saw what was possible, and made victories happen. From Illinois to Vermont, and from New York City to Austin, we’re deeply proud of work to build power in states and cities to advance reproductive freedom.

And we’re expecting more of the same in 2020 — powerful anti-abortion forces aren’t slowing down, but neither are we. The sky’s the limit, John. Together, we can fund abortion care in new cities, train more elected leaders on how to best voice their vision for abortion access, pass more proactive policies, and do everything we can to ensure that every community has true reproductive freedom.
