October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I want to take a moment to recognize breast cancer survivors, the people who are still battling this disease, and the loved ones we've lost.

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among American women. In fact, it's estimated that about 30% of newly diagnosed cancers in women will be breast cancers in 2022.

Promoting education and raising awareness can help people detect early signs, seek care, and save lives, John.

This terrible disease has touched so many people in some way -- the lives of our family members, friends, neighbors, people we see in church and temple, people we grew up with, and so many more.

No family should worry about going bankrupt or cutting corners while trying to find the best care for their loved ones. One of the best ways that we can support those impacted by breast cancer is by advocating for access to affordable healthcare for all Americans.

I won’t stop fighting until every American is guaranteed healthcare access. I am confident that one day we will find a cure. Until then, we can keep spreading awareness, educating the public, and preventing more lives from being lost.

Let us recognize the lives lost to this disease, the survivors, their loved ones, and the scientists working toward a cure. Stand with me this October, and help spread the message about breast cancer screening — it could save lives.
