Late last week, the Republican judge from Texas denied DACA protections for over 400,000 immigrant youth.
There’s no way around it — DACA is dying. Judge Hanen’s order and remarks in court make it clear that no pro-immigrant decision will come out of his court. He’s tried to fully end DACA before, and just stopped Biden’s new DACA rule from going into effect.
If Democrats don’t take action now, we risk losing DACA and being left with no true protections. While they control both chambers of Congress and the White House, Democrats must act immediately!

Today is a good day to remind our elected officials that DACA was never and will never be an adequate solution.
The only pathway forward is for Congress to take urgent action and push forward a legislative solution for permanent protections before the end of the year.
We cannot rely on Republican-led courts to protect immigrant youth. And at this rate, the DACA program will not survive their continued attacks.
Immigrant youth, our families and allies will not take silence and apathy from Democrats in office whose responsibility it is to deliver on the promises made to our communities, and our movement is planning advocacy efforts to make sure of that.
