Hello Friend,

Welcome to my e-newsletter, the Ready Room. As a retired Naval Aviator, the Ready Room is special to me because it’s where fellow aviators meet to brief and debrief missions. This is my weekly briefing to you on my mission in Congress. Please follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube for regular updates on how my team and I are working to serve you in Congress.

Standing with our Citrus FarmersImage

Oranges are a Sunshine State icon, but our citrus producers continue to struggle because of challenges like citrus greening, labor shortages, logistics disruptions and storm damage. Last week, the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture announced Florida's citrus industry is expected to harvest only 28 million boxes of citrus this season, down from 41 million last year. Hurricane Ian's impact will certainly lower this number even further. I joined Sen. Marco Rubio and Rep. Kat Cammack in the heart of Florida's citrus country last week for a Post-Hurricane Grower's Meeting presented by Florida Citrus Mutual. While this storm caused major damage, our ag industry is resilient and we will do all we can to help them fully recover.

Commitment to America - An Economy That's StrongImage

Last week, the Bureau of Labor statistics reported the inflation rate for September hit another 40 year high at 8.2%. Ongoing inflation continues to outpace wages, creating financial hardship for American families. Runaway government spending is a major driver of inflation and Congress must address it. Under the Republican #CommitmentToAmerica, my colleagues and I will enact fiscally responsible policies that curb federal spending and restore prosperity for struggling families. Click here to learn more about how we will build an economy that's strong.
