After promising to do what’s right when it comes to protecting our military in North Carolina, Republican Senator Thom Tillis caved to partisan pressure and put his own political security ahead of our national security.

Tillis voted to allow Donald Trump to take $80 million from North Carolina military bases for his sham emergency declaration — not once, not twice, but three times. Then, he promised military families the money would come back, but we now know it won’t.

We deserve better than a Senator who sells “Support our Troops” Santa hats while breaking a promise he made to our brave men and women in uniform. It’s just another example of how broken Washington is. It’s on us to fix it, and we’ve got just the right candidate to do it:

Cal Cunningham is an Army veteran who understands firsthand how the kind of projects Tillis raided will impact military families — and the safety of our country. We need his leadership in Washington if we’re ever going to fix our broken system.
