Were you born in Zimbabwe and now living in Nottingham? Then we would like to invite you to be part of this exciting project!
In partnership with Fifth Word Theatre, “We Need New Stories” is a new intergenerational living history project funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
We are seeking first-generation Zimbabweans to share their stories and memories of moving to Nottingham through filmed interviews led by local young people of African heritage. The interviews will be permanently stored in the Nottingham Local Studies collection.
There are also exciting opportunities for people aged 16-22 and of African or Caribbean heritage with an interest in film, photography, journalism and local history to support the project and take part in filmmaking, photography and oral history workshops under the guidance of professionals.
