| Table Stakes: Poynter’s Local News Innovation Program |

Poynter’s yearlong Table Stakes program brings together cross-functional leadership teams from eight to 10 diverse news organizations to provide a pathway, based on the seven Tables Stakes, for transforming your news organization into a sustainable enterprise.
This will be the sixth year of the Knight Foundation-funded and Poynter-facilitated initiative to accelerate digital transformation and sustainability in local news. More than 60 newsrooms across the United States have realized their performance challenges through Poynter’s program since 2017, while also adapting to the coronavirus pandemic and ongoing business model changes.

The Bowtie Ball

The Bowtie Ball is Poynter’s largest celebration of journalistic excellence and most significant fundraising event where hundreds of guests — including media executives, business leaders, philanthropists, public servants and community members — are immersed in an elegant evening of impactful storytelling.
Join us this year on Saturday, Nov. 12, at Tampa Marriott Water Street. Together, we’ll celebrate the free press and honor the distinguished careers of legendary journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein whose dogged reporting of the 1972 Watergate break-in changed the course of American history and fortified journalism’s role in democracy. The pair’s contributions will be elevated throughout the evening; Bernstein will attend the event in person and reflect upon his investigative reporting during an interview on stage.
