Gillibrand 2020

**********

Jack,

There is nothing braver than taking on the system and fighting for what's right—even when it's hard, especially when it's hard.

Two women doing that right now are Wendy Davis and Marie Newman. They're both running for U.S. House seats to defeat anti-choice incumbents, and I'm so proud to have endorsed them.

They're facing uphill battles, so it's vital that we do everything we can to help them win.

You can do your part to help elect these two champions by splitting a donation three ways—between Wendy Davis (TX-21), Marie Newman (IL-03), and my campaign. We need as many strong women leaders in Congress as we can get, so I hope you can chip in today.

Here's a bit more about each of them:

Marie, a former advertising consultant and non-profit founder, is primarying an anti-choice Democrat who voted to defund Planned Parenthood and for an abortion ban. He opposed Obamacare's insurance coverage of birth control. And he even speaks at an annual anti-choice gathering and attends fundraisers for an extreme anti-choice organization.

Marie ran against him last year and came within just 2,000 votes of defeating him in the primary. We have to help her close the gap this year because Illinoisans deserve leaders who will truly fight for all of them, including women seeking reproductive health care.

And you're probably familiar with Wendy Davis—her famous 13-hour filibuster in support of abortion rights in the Texas Senate in 2013 vaulted her onto the national stage. Since then, she founded a nonprofit aimed at empowering young women.

Wendy's taking on Chip Roy, a freshman Republican and Ted Cruz's former chief of staff who won the seat by a narrow margin in 2018. Roy has earned scorn from both sides of the aisle for single-handedly blocking a long-delayed disaster aid package. AND he's an anti-choice extremist who co-sponsored a bill to defund Planned Parenthood.

Both of these women lift up every voice in their communities and would be far better representatives in Congress than these anti-choice incumbents.

But running against a powerful man is never easy—I should know!—so it's going to take all of us supporting them to help them win.

Please split a donation between my campaign and Wendy's and Marie's and help elect all of us—women candidates who will never compromise when it comes to women's rights:

Thank you,

Kirsten
