Hey y'all - it’s Travis, Cheri’s campaign manager. I wanted to send you an honest fundraising update to let you know where we stand.

We just wrapped up a budget meeting, where we were facing some tough decisions. The truth is that right now we don’t have the resources in hand to make the investments we need to make this week.

We’ve run an aggressive race, and spent our money accordingly. With our latest poll showing the race tied at 46%, we know what it is going to take to keep us on the path to victory, and any budget cuts at this point would put that at risk.

I say this not to alarm you but because I believe we should be as honest and transparent with you as possible. (Of course, there is one limit that I think you’ll understand — we can’t give Republicans our entire strategy.)

When we ask, it is because your donation is truly that important. It has a real impact on the spending decisions we make and the outcome of our race. I know everybody can’t give every time, nor do we expect that, but it means each individual donation is that much more important.

Will you consider pitching in any amount you can afford to help us close some budget holes and keep us going at a full sprint? Victory is within reach, so any budget cuts at this point could derail us.
