In 2011, President Obama signed Dodd-Frank, creating the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and regulating big banks, all to prevent another financial collapse.
Then, Donald Trump and corporate Democrat Rep. Josh Gottheimer got elected.
The Trump-Gottheimer team weakened Dodd-Frank, exempting huge swaths of our banking system from key safety regulations and stress tests. They tried to strip powers away from the CFPB, making it easier to scam consumers, and made it easier for Wall Street lawyers to stop new regulations.
That's why I'm running for Congress to defeat Gottheimer and fight Trump: because we need Democrats who answer to the people and not just deep-pocketed campaign donors.
Without Wall Street or corporate PAC money on my side, I need you to run our people-powered campaign. There are only 3 days left until our end of year deadline. Chip in $10 or $20 to my campaign for Congress today.
Right now, volunteers have filled my campaign headquarters, texting and calling our supporters for one last grassroots donation ahead of our December 31 deadline.
Every time we get a donation, no matter how small, we ring a bell. Our campaign has been powered by people like you giving $1, $10, $50 at a time.
I don't owe anyone anything. I will stand with the consumer and the American people. But to win this race without Wall Street money, I'll need your help.
Please, chip in $10 or $20 to my campaign for Congress today. Help us meet our end-of-year goals.
Let's win this thing!
