Jack Bergman opened his interview telling viewers that non-republicans tell him they're voting for him because he's "honest." He even stole Dr. Bob's line about dignity and integrity. Absurd. Despite having a four-day prompt on which questions he'll receive after Dr. Bob's interview friday, Jack Bergman bombed tonight on local broadcast news. Here are Dr. Bob's answers on inflation and Line-5 from Friday. The anchor asked Bergman the same two issue questions, and as predicted, Bergman said inflation was caused exclusively by one political party - just casting blame on others, but offering no solutions. The real causes / solutions to inflation. Then, he was asked what he has done to combat the effects of it. Tough question? Not really. We need a problem solver in Congress, not an angry Tweeter, not a blamer and complainer. Jack couldn't come up with a single thing he's done to help American people, but blamed his inaction on others and said something about the price of bananas. We have to defeat Jack Bergman. Here's some good news from the finance team about where we stand. Fundraising from individual contributions for Dr. Lorinser, if he had the same amount of time to raise funds as Bergman, would surpass Bergman. Forget corporate, PAC, and dark money. That's not a gauge of voter-support. Still, even with half the money, we have made twice as many voter contacts as the Bergman campaign on phones and doors. Dad has held town halls and meet and greets in every county at least twice, many as much as three or four times. Dr. Bob has hosted nearly 300 events in the past year, and our event attendance doubles the attendance of Bergman's rare appearances, and includes 20 - 30% non-Democrat voters. Dr. Bob has participated in every candidate forum and accepted every invitation to debate and meet with constituents. Our phone banking survey reached hundreds of thousands voters, from Democrats to Independents and Republicans. The results of which have Doc within jiust a few points of Jack Bergman, and all Democrats are outperforming their Cook Report scores by nine points. You know it well - Dr. Bob is well-received across the political spectrum, and the Bergman campaign appears to be concerned enough to spend over $500,000 of PAC, corporate and dark money on completely false attack ads. Bergman's ads are bush-league and chock-full with blatant, outright lies. TV presence is not an indicator of winnability and this election will be full of surprises.
