Dear, John,

You have probably heard about the Organization of American States, an international organization founded for the purposes of solidarity and co-operation among its member states within the Americas.

From October 5 - 7, OAS held its 52nd General Assembly, and I would like to tell you about how it went.

Unfortunately, the Human Rights resolution was approved with all the disastrous language.

They are obsessed with sexual orientation and gender identity. They are also obsessed with so-called sexual and reproductive rights. They are so far from reality!

Countries of Latin America suffer from very serious, real problems. They are accumulating crisis upon crisis. There are no infrastructures that facilitate development. Many homes still do not have running water. Access to health is a dream in many places. The Covid crisis was the last straw for a weakened economy and super-indebtedness.

And the only solution these supposed 'representatives' have to all of these problems is: the LGTB agenda... But where did they come from?

They have allowed themselves to promote statements where they directly affirm that they intend to skip national legislation, that is, VIOLATE THE SOVEREIGNTY OF LATIN AMERICAN COUNTRIES!

We were lobbying with the representatives of the countries before the OAS. Thanks to the NGO Global Center for Human Rights, with extensive experience in lobbying before the OAS, we achieved high-level contacts to whom we conveyed concerns of citizens and our supporters from Latin America.

Unfortunately, the radical ideological drift is tremendous. Few countries were saved from this attempt to deconstruct the concept of family and leave life unprotected. Guatemala was very firm and adequately represented the voice of a people that loves the family, defends women and fights for life.

Trinidad and Tobago, Brazil, Paraguay and El Salvador have also played a very worthy role. They warned that the ideological language did not have international consensus and was contrary to the American Convention on Human Rights.

So the final document was approved, yes, but with multiple reservations by various states.

However, our presence there was significant:

  • We managed to make a very interesting network with legislators and activists from different Latin American countries who are fed up with the dictatorship of what is politically correct and who see in CitizenGO an effective instrument to fight the battles that matter to you and me.
  • Our trucks caused a fury and commotion. The message was simple: "A woman is defined by biology, not ideology." You can't imagine! One congresswoman chased our van in the congress with a rainbow flag. They can't hear the truth.
  • Our activists and our friends asked the delegates the same question: do you really believe that these issues are what concern Latin American citizens? Don't you think that they are far removed from the reality of our problems and concerns?

Have a look at the demonstration organized by the 'offended' against our truck:

They had to listen to us. We did not elect them to apply an ideological steamroller to us!

This is what our activist Franco Matas said at the press conference with the pro-life caucus:

“Citizens are not being listened to (...) Our so-called representatives have an agenda totally disconnected from reality (...) They intend to impose purely ideological recipes on us (...) The renewed America to which the OAS aspires is not possible without strong families and leaders who listen (...) From CitizenGO we are going to continue channeling the voice of citizens”

Now we are stronger. We have increased our ties and strengthened the ones we already had. We know better their strategy and therefore how to fight it.

And we have left the seed of the General Assembly's lack of legitimacy. I am sure that this seed will be very fruitful. Because neither you nor I will lower our arms. And one day, sooner rather than later, common sense, reason and the true Common Good will end up being imposed.

Thank you for being part of this movement to build a better world in the face of radical ideological threats.

Thanks for all you do!

Gregory Mertz and the entire CitizenGO Team

P.S. Our truck has awakened likes and dislikes. It did not leave anyone indifferent! Thank you for making it possible. If you can, please continue supporting our work. If this is work you are proud of and you have the means, please consider making a regular contribution to our movement. 5 Dollars a month means we can always keep up the fight.
