New Mexico communities raised me – from the moment I took my very first steps to the day I walked across the stage to accept my college diploma.

Growing up in New Mexico, I met friends and neighbors who were kind, innovative, and resilient – but it was clear that our elected officials weren’t doing enough to support families and harness our state’s full potential.

That's why I've dedicated my entire life to giving back to the state that raised me, first as the Director of the Aging and Long-Term Services Department, then as a U.S. Congresswoman, and now as the first Democratic Hispanic woman to be elected Governor.

There are just over three weeks until Election Day, and I'm asking if you'll contribute to my ambitious $75,000 mid-month goal to defend myself from GOP attack ads and pull ahead. Let me explain why:

Since my election in 2018, New Mexico has become a beacon of hope and a blueprint for change. My successful push to legalize cannabis has been a major influence on the Biden administration’s move toward federal decriminalization.

I took bold action to enshrine a woman’s right to make reproductive choices into law and made sure that the Land of Enchantment could be a safe haven for those facing persecution in neighboring states.

And I made it my responsibility to safeguard future generations' chances for success, both by signing a law to provide free higher education for all and jumpstarting New Mexico's transition from greenhouse gas reliance.

But if we want New Mexico to continue clearing the path to progress, I need your help. My extremist opponent is hellbent on reversing all of our advances and dragging New Mexico back in time. What’s more, he’s got the backing of top GOP leaders and their millions in dark money behind him. And now, a recent poll shows us too close for comfort. 

With so much on the line, we can't risk leaving anything to chance.

New Mexico communities deserve a leader who will raise them up, as they have done for me. I’ve dedicated my career to fighting for a brighter future for our state – but I need your help to see this promise through.
