Attorney General Ellison is taking the stage against his 36-year-old anti-choice GOP opponent, Jim Schultz, for the second time in three days this evening. ICYMI: Here's how Friday’s MPR debate went for Schultz:

“Schultz asked Ellison whether he knew the name of the special agent in charge of the Minneapolis FBI office…

“He didn’t give Ellison a chance to answer before naming the agent as Joseph Thompson. Schultz suggested that Ellison had failed the test and was ‘missing in action.’

“But Schultz failed his own test. Thompson is not the head of the FBI office… The local special agent in charge is Michael Paul.”

John, Jim Schultz has never even stepped foot inside of a courtroom, let alone tried a case. He is a hedge fund lawyer who helps make the richest people in the world richer and vowed to “go on offense” attacking reproductive freedom in Minnesota.

But even though Schultz is unqualified and deeply out of touch, this is a midterm election, and Keith is in one of the closest races in the country. Here’s what we’re up against:

- A recent poll from The Trafalgar Group shows Keith trailing Schultz by FOUR POINTS.

- A Republican PAC capable of raising and spending unlimited amounts of money just launched an outrageously dishonest $1 million attack ad campaign against us.

- POLITICO is calling Keith "Minnesota’s Most Vulnerable Progressive."

- Fundraising numbers show we were outraised by Schultz during the last public reporting period.

After our last public fundraising deadline of the election on October 24, every election analyst, pundit, and GOP mega donor in the country will be waiting to dig through our report so they can gauge the strength in the final days of the race. If we get outraised again, we won’t regain our momentum by Election Day.  

To prove that we’re ready to keep the Minnesota Attorney General’s office from falling into the hands of the GOP, we set a public deadline goal of $250,000. And with less than one week to get there, it’s clear we need to pick up the pace.
