According to the UN's latest projections, global population is set to reach 8 billion on November 15th. We're commemorating this milestone with a series of virtual events, and we hope you'll take part.
This week, our Population Education staff will present an overview of the department's newest resources, including the recent launch of the updated World of 8 Billion website and student video contest. Join Education Program Associate Laura Short and Online Learning Coordinator Barbara Huth this Thursday, October 20th, at 2pm ET/11am PT.

Next week, we're honored to host Swostika Thapaliya and Riju Dhakal of YUWA in Nepal. Established in 2009, YUWA is a youth-run organization working to promote youth participation through empowerment and advocacy.
During the presentation, Swostika and Riju will discuss the state of sexual and reproductive health and rights in Nepal, along with the work that YUWA does to improve the status of sexual and reproductive health and rights for young people through various programs. Their presentation takes place next Wednesday, October 26th, at 1pm ET/10am PT.
