Every day, every member of the CREW team shows up to work ready and eager to hold our leaders to a higher standard of ethics and transparency. Since the start of the Trump administration, we’ve taken more than 600 legal actions to achieve that goal—but not all of those legal actions have been about President Trump’s unprecedented corruption and abuse of power.
We’ve also taken action against Cabinet officials who have violated their ethics agreements or abused taxpayer dollars; against dark money groups that have broken the law; against senior administration officials who have violated the Hatch Act and used their positions to advance political goals; and against dozens of government agencies trying to hide their work from public scrutiny.
In an administration rife with corruption and unethical behavior, CREW has taken it all on. Would you make a matched contribution now, to help us take on corruption wherever we find it? Every donation will get us closer to our $50,000 matching goal and help us start 2020 off strong.
We have had plenty of wins this year, including leading the charge that led to President Trump reversing his corruption and disastrous decision to host the G-7 Summit at Doral and the Office of Special Counsel calling for Kellyanne Conway’s dismissal, after CREW’s Hatch Act complaints. But many of CREW’s investigative discoveries and legal victories this year didn’t begin in 2019. The work began in 2018, 2017, and even years earlier in some cases. The only way we get to these victories is by committing to a long-term fight, because corruption didn’t start with President Trump, and it will not end whenever he leaves the White House.
That’s why hitting this $50,000 match goal is so critical—because starting 2020 off strong doesn’t just mean we’ll be able to fight corruption in 2020. It means we’ll be having victories long into the future, and that we’ll have the support to sustain us through the fight. Will you make a matched contribution now and help ensure we'll be winning victories for ethics and democracy for years to come?
Thank you for your support,
Donald Sherman
Deputy Director, CREW
