Friend,

Yaaseen should never have been allowed to buy the bullets used to kill 14-year-old Nick at Roxborough Highschool. He is a felon, and the law is clear: he can’t own ammunition. [1]
But, nothing stopped him from buying it. Unlike gun sales, dealers are not required to run background checks to sell ammo.
It’s time for a background check for every ammo purchase. This life-saving law would keep the bullets that cause damage, out of the hands of killers , instead of waiting for them to be arrested afterward for possession. It might have prevented the Roxborough Highschool shooting. [2]

This isn’t the only shooting it would prevent. Before the Aurora, Colorado mass shooting in 2012 the gunman legally bought 6,000 rounds as easy as buying a book from Amazon. The result was 12 deaths.
It’s a pattern we’ve seen repeated by other mass shooters. In Las Vegas, the shooter had 1,600 rounds. In Sandy Hook, 1,700 rounds of ammunition. And yet, you can buy this ammo without a background check or face-to-face interaction.
It's time that chang [[link removed]] Take action now! [[link removed]] es.
Here’s the other reason this is so critical: the same gun can be used again and again. But rounds are not. If we pass this law, each time someone buys ammunition is a chance to stop a potential shooting before it happens.
Honor Nick and the three survivors at Roxborough Highschool. Tell Harrisburg it’s time to make sure the people buying ammo can legally use them. A background check is the only way to do it.
Sincerely,
Adam Garber
