NAFCU breaks down Fed’s Reg II final rule ([link removed] )

NAFCU Friday sent a Final Regulation Summary to members breaking down the Federal Reserve’s final rule on Regulation II, which covers debit card interchange fees and network routing exclusivity. The final rule requires debit card issuers to enable and allow merchants to choose from at least two unaffiliated networks for card-not-present (CNP) transactions, such as online purchases.

NAFCU, trades continue to push CFPB regarding credit card terms collection ([link removed] )

NAFCU joined four financial institution trade groups Friday in a letter to the CFPB regarding the bureau’s notice and request for comment regarding the Report of Terms of Credit Card Plans and Consumer and College Credit Card Agreements.

NAFCU responds to FHFA RFI on fintech in housing finance ([link removed] )

NAFCU Senior Regulatory Affairs Counsel Aminah Moore wrote to the Federal Housing Finance Agency’s (FHFA) recently created Office of Financial Technology in response to the agency’s RFI on fintech in housing finance. In the letter, Moore expressed NAFCU’s support for innovation, but urged the FHFA to protect “the safety and soundness of the housing finance system.”

NAFCU’s Management and Leadership Institute kicks off today ([link removed] )

Today is the first day of NAFCU’s Management and Leadership Institute (MLI) conference, designed to help credit union professionals take their careers to the next level. The five-day program runs through Friday and will kick off with welcome remarks from NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger. The event will help credit union leaders strengthen their skills needed to run a successful credit union.

Retail sales see no change in September ([link removed] )

Total retail sales saw no change in September following an increase of 0.4 percent in August. NAFCU Chief Economist and Vice President of Research Curt Long analyzed the report in a new NAFCU Macro Data Flash report.
