Barnet Walking Football Team: The inclusive over 50s football groupBarnet Walking Football Team are a friendly and inclusive over 50s football team that meet at the Hive Stadium in Barnet every Thursday and Friday. Our Communications and Engagement Officer Sarah recently visited the team to get involved and chat to the players afterwards. to play a key part in our user-led Healthwatch team. Healthwatch Barnet is a unique, user-led team which seeks to understand the experience of local residents accessing health services, with the aim of increasing knowledge and driving service improvement. Healthwatch Barnet is delivered by Inclusion Barnet, a thriving Deaf and Disabled People's Organisation (DDPO) that believes in the social model of disability, and where 80% of our staff have lived experience of disability. Take the Accessible Transport Survey now! (From Transport for All)Transport for All is a disabled-led organisation campaigning to increase access to transport and streets for Deaf and disabled people across the UK. They have launched a new project aiming to capture the experiences of Deaf and disabled people using transport in England. Transport
for All is running the survey to gather data on the lived experiences of disabled people and will then be using it to campaign for change, ensuring that disabled people’s voices are at the heart of decision-making. The responses from this survey will shape policies at Transport for All and highlight areas where we need to concentrate our future work. The survey runs until Friday 21st October (closes at Midnight) It is open to anyone who is a Deaf or disabled person, over the age of 18, and lives in England. Take the survey for a chance to win £100 shopping vouchers! Once you have completed the survey, there is an option to enter your contact details to be entered into an exciting prize draw. One person will win £100 shopping vouchers, and 2 people will win £50 vouchers. Addictive Eaters Anonymous online meetings, Thursdays 6.30 - 7.30am and Fridays 7.00 - 8.00pmAddictive Eaters Anonymous (AEA) is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from addictive eating. AEA has members who have suffered from anorexia, bulimia and binge eating. Many have been underweight, overweight or obese; others were people of average
weight yet suffered with an obsession with food. Members may have used exercise and other substances to try and control their weight.
