John, as I’m out
talking with voters, I’m reminded how much is at stake in this election.
Democrats hold the House by just a few seats, and our swing seat is a must
win if we want to keep Congress blue.

I could send you a laundry list of reasons why we need to hold the House.
But here are four reasons that are especially top of mind and may not be
the typical reasons you think of.

If Republicans control the House:

 1. Democrats won’t have the authority we need to oversee the programs
created by the Inflation Reduction Act. Passing good legislation is
one thing, but oversight is needed to make sure new programs are run
efficiently and effectively.
 2. Corporate PAC money will make a comeback. Many of the Members who
reject corporate PAC money were elected in 2018, and many of us (I’m
one of them!) are the most at risk of losing our races this year. If
Republicans win our seats, corporations will have even more power in
Washington.
 3. Republicans will implement a nationwide abortion ban. They already
introduced legislation to do so, and if they gain control of the
Senate, House, and White House, they will take away our freedoms.
 4. A Republican agenda will make life harder for working people.
Republicans will give tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy while weakening
our economy. Their failure to address climate change will cost us
billions down the line. And their unwillingness to tackle gun violence
will cost lives.

Seats like mine, which only flipped blue in 2018, are the key to
protecting our rights and building a better future. [ [link removed] ]There are just a
