EPPC’s scholars explore the many connections between the Judeo-Christian tradition and public life as they argue for the robust moral and cultural foundations needed to sustain a society that is both free and virtuous.

EPPC Distinguished Senior Fellow George Weigel continues his work as one of America’s leading public intellectuals and one of the most prominent Catholic thinkers in the world. His latest book, The Irony of Modern Catholic History, was published in September, and in July, Mr. Weigel and Steve White led the 28th annual Tertio Millennio Seminar on the Free Society, which brings together graduate students and young professionals from North America and central and eastern Europe to study the lessons of Catholic social teaching for the challenges of the contemporary world.

Through the Catholic Women’s Forum, EPPC Kate O’Beirne Fellow Mary Hasson is developing a burgeoning network of leading female Catholic experts, with one generation mentoring the next. Her forthcoming book will expose the transnational promotion of transgender ideology that threatens so many religious institutions today.

On Faith: Lessons from an American Believer, co-edited by EPPC President Ed Whelan, assembles some of the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia’s most profound insights on his own faith, on the challenges that religious believers face in modern America, and on the religious freedoms protected by the Constitution.
