1) Is Biden’s Destruction of Our Economy Intentional?
This is the question we are asked every day by our tens of thousands of readers: Is Biden intentionally trying to take a wrecking ball to the economy? Is this all part of a diabolical plan - the “great reset” - to end our system of free market capitalism and “transition” America into a socialist paradise where no one uses fossil fuels or electricity or cars?
Our response is: we don’t think it’s intentional. BUT, if this a scheme to burn down the village in order to rebuild it, they are doing a great job of it.
Last week CTUP’s president Steve Moore gave a speech to FreedomWork’s activists called the Seven Ways Biden Is Destroying Our Economy. It has gone viral on the internet and you can watch or read about it here:
Here are the seven policies Biden has implemented that are tearing our country apart:
1. dismantle the nation’s energy supply
2. don’t enforce the border
3. Detain, arrest, and jail all your political enemies
4. Devalue the nation’s currency through inflation
5. Destroy the nation’s finances by running up the debt by multiple trillions of dollars of debt
6. Divide rather than unite the nation - rich versus poor, black versus white, gay versus straight, urban versus city
7. Dumb down and indoctrinate our children with anti-America propaganda in the schools and media And allowing teacher unions and left wing activists to take over
We’d love to hear from you. What did we leave out?
2) The Left’s New Green Hero is Vladimir Putin
Politico Europe, a publication marinated in green politics, has named Vladimir Putin as one of its "power players of the year" for “advancing Europe's green agenda.”
“By invading Ukraine and manipulating energy supplies to undermine European support for Kyiv, Russian President Vladimir Putin has achieved something generations of green campaigners could not — clean energy is now a fundamental matter of European security,” Politico gushes approvingly.
The article explains that Putin “invaded Ukraine after the EU had spent two years laying the foundations of its Green Deal program for zeroing out emissions by 2050. That meant the policy machinery for a total remake of the European energy economy was already moving. All it needed was a nudge.”
We don’t know which is more deranged. Supporting Putin’s murderous attack on Ukraine or cheering on Europe’s green new deal, which has thrust Europe into an energy crisis with energy rationing, power outages, $10 a gallon gas, and burning wood for home heating purposes. Germany is reopening shuttered nuclear plants to avoid perpetual black outs. It’s a return to the Dark Ages in Europe - and the climate change lobby is loving it.
3) Chart of the Day: 42% of 2022 High School Seniors Who Took the ACT Test Flunked
Every day that we let the teacher unions run our schools, our nation gets dumber - and poorer.
4) SEC Admits it Lost Thousands of Public Comments
We reported earlier this year on the outrageous SEC rules that would require every publicly traded company to make extensive, detailed "climate disclosures," including upstream and downstream emissions. This rule would be staggeringly expensive, both in its direct costs and in the way the disclosures would be used by activist investors to impose their anti-energy agenda.
Federal agencies are required by law to allow a “public comment” period before new regs can be enforced. Now the SEC admits thousands of public comments have been mysteriously lost due to a "technological error":
We’re going to go out on a limb here and say that the comments that were lost were all negative complaints about the new rules. Also, if an agency can’t even keep its records straight, isn’t that prima facie evidence that they are too incompetent to implement a new rule that will cost American businesses billions of dollars?
5) Twitter Tries to Muzzle Florida Surgeon General
Regular Hotline readers know we are adamantly opposed to the government regulating the content that social media companies like Facebook and Twitter choose to post and not post on their platforms. But the bias against conservative voices is getting ridiculous. Here’s the latest outrage:
Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo has recommended against COVID mNRA vaccines and boosters for 18-39 year old men due to a heightened risk of adverse cardiac events. He has unimpeachable health credentials and has cited extensive scientific evidence for this decision. Twitter promptly decided to censor him, although they reversed after a backlash and the tweet is now visible again:
Whether you agree or disagree with Florida's latest study, it should not be silenced.
The Scandinavian nations of Denmark, Norway and Sweden all find serious health concerns in giving existing COVID vaccines to younger people.
All three countries have renowned public health programs and aggressively promote best-practice treatments. Australia too has limited vaccines for those aged 16 to 30. Are all of these countries also “science deniers?”
We are NOT anti-vaxers. Our view is that risks and the benefits of the vaccine are both very low for people who are young and healthy, making it difficult to definitively conclude benefits exceed risks. We would allow the evidence on both sides of the vaccine debate to be presented openly and leave it to people to make their own decisions.
Ironically, censorship by Twitter and others only makes people more suspicious that the government and the media are suppressing the truth about vaccines.
