Friend -- Did you see our email last week? We are 26 days from
the election, and we must act now! [ [link removed] ]Will you donate to Courage
California and help defend Katie Porter’s seat?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Friend,

Katie Porter’s opponent has stepped up his attacks on her while also using
fear and hate to stoke his base.

When migrants came ashore in Laguna Beach, Republican Scott Baugh said the
boats had “gang members, human traffickers, and drug runners” -- while the
migrants had yet to be identified.(1) He has also released ads blaming
Rep. Porter for the rising price of food and gas, an outright lie.(2)

Baugh is Donald Trump 2.0, and we can’t let him defeat Rep. Porter and
represent the people of California in Congress. We need to get Katie
Porter’s message to every single possible voter in her district, and we’re
running out of time before the election. Will you donate?

[ [link removed] ]Yes, I’ll donate to Courage California and help defend Katie Porter’s
seat!

Rep. Porter is a progressive champion who has not only fought for abortion
rights and environmental protections, but is working to stop corruption on
both sides of the aisle, writing legislation to prohibit members of
Congress from trading stocks while in office.(3)

She also has gone toe-to-toe with corporate CEOs who other politicians are
scared to take on, ensuring us free COVID-19 testing, shaming Big Pharma
into lowering drug prices, and telling off Wall Street.

Meanwhile, Baugh is a former leader of the Orange County Republican Party
who is anti-abortion and anti-immigrant, and, as the Los Angeles Times put
it, would “join the ranks of extremist GOP lawmakers working to take away
Americans’ rights and freedoms and sow hatred toward immigrants.”(4)

The choice is clear, and we need to make sure voters in Katie Porter’s
district know what’s at stake. Courage California used detailed polling to
develop the message that will resonate in Rep. Porter’s multicultural
district, and now we need to fund ads and texting programs in multiple
languages to get the message out.

champions are still the majority come November?

Thank you!

Yours in the fight for a progressive future,

Irene, along with Angela, Annie, Isidra, Jay, Lindsay, Mai, Mai, Raquel,
and Scottie (and the rest of the Courage PAC team)
