John, I’m so proud to be a part of one of the most productive Congresses in our lifetime, and I wanted to take a moment to catch you up on everything we’ve been working on in Washington, and how it benefits families right here in Ohio and the 11th district.
From the moment I became your representative, I never once stopped thinking about ways to improve the lives of every one of my constituents. With the recently gained Democratic majority in Congress and President Biden’s support, we’ve been able to provide real, tangible relief for thousands of Ohio families. But we’ve only been able to do that because of our most loyal supporters like you, John.
Since Democrats held our House majority, took back the Senate majority, and elected Joe Biden to the White House, we’ve been able to produce real results for the American people. And despite Republicans trying to block our efforts, I’m proud to show you just what Democrats have been able to do for you and your families.
First, Democrats passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, investing $100 million in Ohio broadband access, the largest broadband expansion in history, and millions more for our roads, bridges, and electrical lines.
Then, we passed the Inflation Reduction Act, tackling skyrocketing costs for Americans and reducing prices for health care premiums. According to estimates, 11,000 people in OH-11 will gain access to affordable health care coverage due to this bill. That’s thousands of Ohioans who no longer have to stress about what will happen to them if they get sick, or if a loved one gets sick. That’s real progress for Ohio.
But our work was just getting started, John. Together, my Democratic colleagues and I have been able to pass the first gun violence prevention bill in decades, student loan forgiveness, and even more laws that will help create thousands of jobs in OH-11, including 800 manufacturing jobs. What’s even more exciting is that if we hold Congress in November, we can get to work doing even more for Ohio and the American people. We need your support, John.
As a Cuyahoga County Council member and Chairwoman of the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party, Shontel Brown has spent the last decade serving the people of Ohio and building coalitions. Now, as the Congresswoman for Ohio’s 11th District, she will fight for affordable quality health care, jobs that pay fair wages, a strong public education system, and equity and justice for all. Will you join her and be the change we need?
