Biz2Credit supports small businesses seeking sources for capital. Throughout the webinar, Andrew outlined his vision for a forward looking strategy to help small businesses through his work on the House Small Business Committee. "As we put the pandemic behind us, we need to look forward - focusing on ensuring that the government programs we have are running smoothly and in a way that lifts up small businesses, without allowing government to become too burdensome to recovery," he said. WHAT'S NEW IN NY-02 Andrew Serves As Honorary Grand Marshal In NYC Columbus Day Parade On Monday, Andrew was proud to serve as Honorary Grand Marshal at the 78th Annual New York City Columbus Day Parade and march alongside the Port Authority Police Columbia Association. Andrew will always fight to ensure our Italian heritage is preserved for generations to come. Andrew Tours Local Defense Manufacturer This week, Andrew was able to tour Sayville's own Peck & Hale facility, a world leader in cargo securing products, systems, and solutions, including for all branches of the United States Armed Forces, the commercial maritime industry, airline industry, and rail and trucking industry. Andrew knows that's critical for our local economy that Long Island manufacturing is empowered to grow and thrive. He enjoyed meeting Peck & Hale's team and seeing what they are able to produce right here in NY-02. Watch the highlights here. Andrew To Host Drug Take Back & Narcan Training In Sayville The drug overdose epidemic in the United States is a clear and present public health, public safety, and national security threat. DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day encourages the public to remove unneeded medications from their homes as a measure of preventing medication misuse and opioid addiction from ever starting. On October 29th, Andrew, along with Councilman O'Conner and Assemblyman Gandolfo, will be hosting a Drug Take Back event at Community Ambulance in Sayville. Several community groups will also be on hand of offer Narcan training to help the public learn how to recognize and respond to an overdose, CPR training, and counseling and prevention services. NO REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED so Andrew encourages everyone to stop by between 10AM - 2PM on the 29th to help combat our local opioid crisis. KEEPING UP WITH CONGRESS Andrew Urges Biden Admin To Act Against CCP "Police Stations" in NYC This week, Andrew joined with 20 of his colleagues to raise concerns about reported law enforcement presence of the People’s Republic of China in New York City. The Public Security (Police) Bureau of Fuzhou, China, announced in January 2022 that it has opened the “first batch” of 30 overseas police service stations in 25 cities in 21 countries. In the United States, the Fuzhou Police’s overseas service station is hosted at the American Changle Association, an overseas Chinese hometown organization in New York City. “There should be no room for the Chinese government to exercise extraterritorial law enforcement unilaterally on U.S. soil," the Members wrote in the letter to Secretary of State Blinken and Attorney General Garland. Andrew Demands AG Garland Investigate Leak of Private Conservative Donor Information This week, Andrew joined with five of his New York colleagues in sending a letter to Attorney General Garland calling on him to launch an investigation into the leak of conservative 501(c)4 Stand For America’s 2019 tax filings that included a donor list. The leaked documents bore the stamp of the New York Attorney General office’s charity office. As a lawyer, Andrew is starkly opposed to our justice system being used to political ends and to target individuals for their political beliefs. "It is imperative that the DOJ evaluate and ascertain whether protections extended to organizations such as SFA were violated with political motivation to mitigate potential erosions of the rights to free speech afforded under the First Amendment," the Members wrote in the letter.
