Dear John,

This week one of our previously featured authors, Emily Wang of Yale University, was recognized as one of the recipients of the MacArthur Foundation's new "Genius" grant.

Wang has worked to improve the health of individuals and communities affected by mass incarceration and has published several papers in Health Affairs.
Eye On Health Reform
In an article released ahead-of-print this week, Katie Keith updates readers on all things health policy reform by covering:

  • The impact of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022 on health reforms
  • Recent Affordable Care Act (ACA)-related court rulings
  • Several new Department of Health and Human Services rule finalizations
  • New US uninsurance data trends
  • Actions by the Department of the Treasury to stop Georgia from implementing a previously approved ACA waiver.

Art Enables: Marti Clark

This week, we’re highlighting another resident artist from Art Enables, a nonprofit organization that provides opportunities and experiences to artists with disabilities. We purchased original artwork by five talented artists, and we are honored to share their stories.
Artist Marti Clark spends a lot of time creating artwork at Art Enables and at home.

She gravitates toward creating bright, colorful artwork featuring animals and birds.

Her process always starts with a sketch, which is then transferred to canvas.

"As a resident artist, my artwork is included at Art Enables shows and special functions," Clark says. Art Enables provides ample opportunities for people to see her artwork.

Though Clark joined in late 2021, she has already experienced success in selling her artwork.

"I sold three [pieces of] artwork in one day," she shares excitedly.

Learn more about Art Enables by listening to our new podcast episode of Health Affairs This Week, which features Tony Brunswick, executive director of Art Enables.
