Bad news: McConnell and national Republicans are spending almost $60 million to blast ads attacking me. I only won my last race by 1,017 votes, and if we don’t have the money to respond, my opponent — who wants to ban abortion nationwide and has committed to ending Social Security —will win this seat.

It gets worse: Our fundraising team has had to lower projections recently because donations have inexplicably slowed way down. If we have to make the massive budget cuts my team is talking about, we won’t have the funds to respond to these attacks.

The silver lining: If just 3% of people reading this email chip in TODAY, we’ll be able to reup our current ad buy and set the record straight.
