I’m up early this morning to get caught up on emails and review some updates from my team from the past few days. I wish I could say I have better news, but here's the situation:

First, the latest data shows that my opponent and I are still in a 50-50 gridlock, so it’s likely that this election will be the closest of my career.

Second, we’re pacing 32% behind our fundraising from last month and our final pre-election FEC deadline is coming up fast. A strong report will prove the strength of our Democratic coalition, but a weak one will embolden Republicans to spend even more to defeat me.

Finally, we discovered that an onslaught of right-wing attack ads will hit our local airwaves tomorrow, which could potentially push thousands of undecided voters toward my opponent in these critical final weeks.

John, that’s the bad news. The good news is that there's a solution, if we work together. Our most effective tool in this fight is a sufficient media budget so we can combat right-wing misinformation and deliver our message to voters online, in person, and on the airwaves.
