John, With just a few hours to go before October’s mid-month fundraising deadline, I wanted to reach out again to ask for your help to get us over the top. We are coming up short right now, and I’m worried we are running out of time to close the gap.
Hi John, You know I don’t like to beat around the bush -- so I’ll get right to the point. The good news is that last month was one of our best fundraising months of the campaign. We had an incredible outpouring of support, and it has put us in a better position going into the end of the year. The bad news is that since then, donations have slowed to a trickle. I’m doing everything I can to expand opportunity and inclusive economic growth across Chicago. But in February, I will face a very well-funded Trump-supporting businessman in Chicago’s elections, among others. To stop him and continue advancing our shared vision for Chicago, I will need your help. My team has set a mid-month goal of getting 100 individual contributions between now and midnight. I wouldn’t ask if it weren’t important, John. Thanks for all you do. -Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot
