Over the last week, we have highlighted the critical differences in this race between my opponent and me.

I am fighting to protect women and their reproductive rights and to prevent gun violence, with support from pro-choice organizations like Planned Parenthood and gun safety leaders like Moms Demand Action. My opponent is pro-Dobbs and is endorsed by the NRA.

Ballots are dropping next week, and we are in a very tight race. We cannot assume that our campaign based on substance beats one based on deceptive attacks. In the face of these attacks, we must be vigilant and hold onto hope that we will get through this dark time. My commitment to holding on to hope—and not running a fear based campaign—is a critical reason why the Durango Herald issued a powerful endorsement for my re-election.
