It’s no secret that Republican extremists are attacking democracy nationwide.

The under-30 vote is one of the biggest threats to these Republicans winning in November. That’s why one of their main targets is college students -- the most progressive bloc of voters.

In fact, following record voter turnout by young voters in the 2018 and 2020 elections, MAGA Republicans have drummed up baseless conspiracies about widespread voter fraud to tighten up voter restrictions, intentionally suppressing the younger generation’s right to vote in the process.

We can't let the Republican Party’s dirty tricks stop us from turning out young people in unprecedented numbers in 2022.

Even with the election less than 4 weeks away, there’s still time for Secretaries of State across the nation to take action and stop voter suppression on college campuses by:

• Ensuring there are polling places on or near campuses
• Allowing students to vote using their college IDs
• Automatically sending mail-in ballots to students registered to vote in-state

Following Trump’s big defeat in 2020, Republicans have spent countless hours peddling false claims about the integrity of voting in America so they could set the stage to suppress the votes of the people most likely to sway elections out of their favor -- young people and people of color.

From restrictive registration laws to limitations on ballot access, Republicans are hell-bent on using as many new voter suppression tactics as they can all across the country.

It’s not too late for the Secretary of State in most states to go on offense and stop voter suppression on college campuses -- but with early voting already started in some states and starting very soon in others, there’s no time to waste.

Young people are with us and we can help make sure that they have the right to vote. If we can increase voter participation by ensuring that young voters can access the ballot box, we will win.
