We’re still paying the price for Trump’s destruction of the EPA. That’s why we cannot lose this opportunity to issue new environmental standards for energy plants.
John: The EPA needs our support now more than ever.
A recent report from Evergreen Action has shown that the EPA is falling behind on its planned rollout of environmental rules for power plants. If they don’t start catching up soon, these rules may not be ready before the end of Biden’s first term.
John – it comes as no surprise that the EPA is struggling to keep up with these critical deadlines. It’s the same reason why we can’t take any risks of falling behind.
In just four years, Trump slashed the EPA workforce and diminished as much institutional knowledge as he could. Biden has made a lot of progress in getting the agency back on its feet, but a lack of resources and staff still plagues the EPA as it works hard to make up for the lost time.
We’re still paying the price for Trump’s destruction of the EPA. That’s why we cannot lose this opportunity to issue new environmental standards for energy plants.
