With Election Day just around the corner, our team at Civic Action is reaching out to share a special resource from our political action committee, Civic Alliance for a Prosperous Economy (CAPE).
Our team helped form the political group CAPE alongside Working Washington and OneAmerica Votes. CAPE’s goal is to fight back against decades of trickle-down tricksters who seek to enrich the already-rich by electing a new league of civic superheroes, dedicated to growing our economy from the middle out.
This year, CAPE invited candidates in a select group of key races to participate in our ratings process to find out whether they’re civic superheroes or superZEROES. Candidates filled out a survey that included questions on everything from raising the minimum wage to prioritizing affordable housing. Based on their responses, CAPE rated each of the candidates on a 5-star scale.
We know that you agree with Civic Action’s mission, John, which is why we wanted to share these results with you before you cast your ballot. Will you take a look at CAPE’s ratings by following this link?

In addition to helping voters get informed before Election Day, CAPE’s ratings also hold candidates accountable. During the 2020 election, CAPE asked legislative candidates to take a pledge against knee-jerk reactions to cut funding and gut services in response to the pandemic. That pledge made a serious difference: Washington ended up rejecting budget cuts and instead continued making key investments like enhanced unemployment benefits and expanded support for workers and families. And as a result, we were named the strongest state economy in the nation this year.
CAPE’s political work makes a real impact – but the key to creating a more inclusive economy in Washington is you, John. We’re counting on Washingtonians like you to support CAPE superheroes down the ballot this year. Will you check our CAPE ratings before you vote?

Thank you,
Team Civic Action
