Friend - Unfortunately the media many times reports limited information from which we are supposed to come to a conclusion. Then, we may even repeat articles because they seem provocative or titillating. Not great.
One article I saw last week promoted the idea that record amounts of money were being spent to win Democratic Secretary of States races because the national association was spending $11 million on TV ads in three states. Another article I read was about a donor giving Leonard Leo, the architect for the Right to take over the Supreme Court, $1.8 billion dollars for a strategy to replicate their courts strategy in other arenas of power.
So is $11 million significant? Or are we playing with knives while the Right is playing with bazookas? The time for serious investment is now. Not just for November but to implement strategies that can win again and again over time. Since the Red State work of the Right won an historic number of state houses which led to redistricting wins that led to Trump’s win in 2016. |
Since the Federalist work under Leonard Leo began a decade or more ago and resulted in taking over the Supreme Court. The Right has invested deeply and well in changing the game by taking positions of power and using that power to change the rules. We have to take that on and build an ongoing initiative to enable democracy to work. What we do today will have huge ripple effects. And I don’t think the media covers the facts well enough to allow the average person a chance to make informed decisions. We will continue to bring you good information and good strategic suggestions.
We have three major strategies that will have a long lasting impact: “Down is What’s Up!”, engage our communities, and finally change the way campaigns work. Over the next few months we will be explaining how all this works (and adding cool catch phrases) as we win this November and prepare for 2024.
