The fight to protect the Boundary Waters area in Minnesota from being permanently destroyed by a dangerous copper mining project continues.

***********************************************************
Dear Friend,

The fight to protect the Boundary Waters area in Minnesota from being permanently destroyed by a dangerous copper mining project continues.
16,808 Earthjustice supporters sent in letters to the U.S. Forest Service in support of the proposed twenty-year mineral withdrawal of the Boundary Waters area, which would ensure the thriving way of life and the economy of northeastern Minnesota will continue.
While the U.S. Forest Service considers and assesses the public input and delivers final recommendations to Secretary Haaland at the Department of the Interior, our lawyers and policy staff are hard at work advocating for permanent protection of the area from mining interests.

The fight to stop destructive mining -- both in Boundary Waters and throughout the U.S. -- is an ongoing battle. And, Friend, we need your ongoing support to protect these wild places with the full power of the law. Will you make the commitment to fighting back with a monthly gift to Earthjustice today? Mining will destroy the wild haven of the Boundary Waters. With more than 1 million acres of protected land, more than 1,100 lakes, and hundreds of miles of rivers and streams, the Boundary Waters are a natural resource unlike anything else. The area also draws visitors, making this unique wilderness a source of support for the local economy and a robust outdoor industry.

If you want to do all you can to stop the destruction of this important wilderness area for corporate profits, I hope you'll consider making a monthly commitment to Earthjustice. One thing I've learned from over a decade of this work is that those threatening our planet do not take breaks -- we must stay vigilant and committed if we want to truly protect the places we hold dear.

Sincerely,
Blaine Miller-McFeeley
Senior Legislative Representative
