Pray for Ukrainian staff working for IJM in Romania. Many still have relatives in Ukraine who are affected by the war. Pray for an end to violence and the protection and safety of those still in the country.
Latin America
Crimes against children and women are the most reported within the Guatemalan Justice System. So far this year, 29% of all complaints that entered the system affected this vulnerable group. Pray that God will continue to give the IJM Guatemala team wisdom and strength as we continue to collaborate with local authorities, civil society and survivors to best protect them.
South Asia
Please pray for IJM’s upcoming studies on the nature and scale of slavery in potential areas of work. We are hoping to send IJM teams to new frontiers, but want to start with a solid understanding of bonded labor and how local governments are currently responding. Pray we can find great research partners, design quality studies and learn everything we need to develop a strong plan of action.
Southeast Asia
Praise God for the launch of the Videotaped In-Depth Disclosure Interviews (VIDIs) Framework in the Philippines! VIDIs are effective tools to shield child victims of online sexual exploitation from trauma caused by the difficulty of providing multiple interviews and live testimony in court. The framework aims to be a go-to document for caseworkers and front-liners seeking to utilize VIDIs in pursuing justice for child victims. Pray that VIDIs become mainstream as a child-protective and victim-centric prosecution strategy in future court proceedings.
