Hi John,
It’s Joy, Wes’ mom. Today is Wes’ 44th birthday!

I am so incredibly proud of the man Wes has become. From his challenging teenage years and days at military school, Wes went on to:
>> Become the first black Rhodes Scholar in the history of Johns Hopkins University
>> Lead soldiers in combat as a U.S. Army Captain serving his country in Afghanistan;
>> Launch a small business and lead the nation’s largest poverty-fighting organization;
>> Become a caring husband and father (his most important achievements);
>> Win the nomination to be our Democratic nominee for Governor of Maryland.
With only three and half weeks until Election Day, Wes isn’t taking any days off. Today, he’s celebrating his birthday by meeting with Marylanders and continuing to put in the work for a Maryland that leaves no one behind.
The greatest gift I could give him this year is more grassroots support from this wonderful movement of people. Will you consider making a donation of $10 or whatever you can afford today in support of Wes and our campaign on his birthday?

Thank you so much for all you’ve done to help Wes become the Democratic nominee for Governor. I know that with your help, in 24 days from now he will be the next governor to lead our great state of Maryland forward.
With gratitude,
Joy
