*JAYME STEVENSON ADDRESSES CONGRESSIONAL NEGLECT AND NEGATIVE IMPACTS ON SOUTHWESTERN CT OVER LAST 14 YEARS AND REASONS TO VOTE NOVEMBER 8TH*

Jayme Stevenson on the Importance of Public Safety Support ( [link removed] )

Fairfield , Conn. — Jayme Stevenson, the Independent and Republican candidate for Congress in Connecticut’s 4th Congressional district, held incumbent Jim Himes accountable for his disconnection with constituents during Thursday night's debate, hosted by the League of Women Voters and broadcast on Connecticut Public at the Norwalk Community College David Levinson Theater. The entire debate may be viewed on Connecticut Public’s YouTube Channel *here* ( [link removed] ).

With only 24 days until the November 8th elections, this debate showcased key issues, including inflation and the economy, women’s rights, infrastructure, immigration, and foreign policy. While Himes spent much of his time during the debate lamenting on former President Trump and touting the Biden administration’s handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal to the unfortunate Inflation Reduction Act, Jayme expressed her unique viewpoints and concern over her opponent’s lack of accomplishments for our district.

In her closing statement, Jayme summed up many qualified reasons for voters to elect her, “It’s time for a real change. I am a leader who understands how the economy works and will focus on bringing good paying jobs and more of our hard earned money back home. Receiving the Independent Party nomination reflects my record of working across the aisle and willingness to stand up to my party when you need me to. It’s time to elect a Congresswoman who will be a champion for our children, families and small businesses. I’ll prioritize great education, the health of our children, safe streets and a strong and secure nation.

“And as the ONLY woman and mother in 75 years to serve southwest Connecticut in Congress, I know what a woman is and why it is so important to protect women’s rights in the doctor’s office, locker room and board room.

“Positive change will NEVER happen by electing the same person and expecting a different result. I ask for your support and vote on November 8th.”

*ABOUT JAYME*
I’m running for Congress to bring common sense and balance back to Washington and to give voice to the people of the 4th Congressional District who have been left behind by politicians working for themselves and a national party agenda.  As a trusted leader and mother of five children, I understand the impacts government policies have on our communities and promise to fight for Connecticut children, families and businesses.
