Governor Walz?joined Senator Amy Klobuchar and a delegation of Expo leaders to announce that Minnesota is ready to host the 2027 World Expo. Minnesota is competing against four other countries to host the international event during the summer of 2027. The expo is expected to have an economic impact of $2.5 billion.
?I?m grateful for our partnerships with both our local government officials and our federal partners to bring this Expo to the United States. We are ready, and we look forward to showcasing Minnesota on the global stage,"?said Governor Walz.
Governor Walz met with Her Majesty Queen Sonja of Norway to discuss the importance of Minnesota?s relationship with Norway and highlight opportunities to enhance exchanges between Minnesota and Norway.?
Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan proclaimed Tuesday, October 11, 2022 as Coming Out Day in Minnesota.
"On Coming Out Day, we recommit to safeguarding the progress made to protect LGBTQ+ Minnesotans ? from meaningful access to reproductive health care to the freedom to marry who you love. As Governor, I will always stand with you in these fights," said Governor Walz.?
"It?s Coming Out Day. And here in Minnesota, we believe in building a state where everyone can be their whole, beautiful, and authentic selves ? without fear," said Lieutenant Governor Flanagan. "When you?re ready, there?s a whole community to cheer you on and support you."
On Monday,?Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan participated in a Sunrise Ceremony in celebration of Indigenous Peoples Day.?
"We?re strengthening and growing our relationships with Minnesota?s Native communities and tribal governments today and every day. Happy Indigenous Peoples Day, Minnesota!" said Lieutenant Governor Flanagan.?
Governor Walz, Lieutenant Governor Flanagan, and the Women?s Foundation of Minnesota invited young women and gender-expansive youth from across the state to apply for open positions with the Young Women?s Cabinet. Applications will be accepted online through Tuesday, October 18.?

Through this partnership, we center the leadership and solutions of young women in order to improve opportunities for young people, their families, and their communities.?
