Thursday on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 ([link removed]) , during footage seen for the first time taken on January 6, 2021 by Alexandra Pelosi, her mother, Speaker Nancy Pelosi ([link removed]) (D-CA) declared she would happily go to jail for punching then-President Trump if he came to the Capitol.
During his speech on January 6, Trump said, “And after this, we’re going walk down, and I’ll be there with you. We’re going walk down to the Capitol.”
Pelosi said, “Tell him if he comes here, we’re going to the White House.”
A staff member said, “The Secret Service said they have dissuaded him from coming to Capitol Hill. They told him they don’t have the resources to protect him here. So at the moment, he is not coming, but that could change.”
Pelosi said, “I hope he comes. I want to punch him out.”
She added, “We’re waiting for this, for trespassing on the Capitol grounds. I want to punch him out, and I’m going to go to jail, and I’m going to be happy.”
Imagine if a Republican leader had said this. The media would be screaming about Republican incitement to violence. But Democrats get a pass for their open rhetoric of violence. They even get a pass for their actual violence against political opponents.

At an April 20, 2021 press conference held shortly after the announcement that former police officer Derek Chauvin had been found guilty of murdering George Floyd ([link removed]) in Minneapolis 11 months earlier, Pelosi looked toward the sky and said ([link removed]) : “Thank you, George Floyd, for sacrificing your life for justice. For being there to call out to your mom — how heartbreaking was that — call out for your mom, ‘I can’t breathe.’ But because of you, and because of thousands, millions of people around the world who came out for justice, your name will always be synonymous with justice.”
