Our Revolution NJ is proud to support Kadja Manuel in his campaign for an At-Large seat on Trenton’s City Council! Trenton is in desperate need of competent, progressive, people-first leadership right now. Thankfully, six of the seven seats on a currently dysfunctional city council will have new members come January. So it’s crucial that we make sure Kadja is among them!
He’s a born-and-raised native Trentonian, so he knows what it’s like to grow up in this historically underfunded, disadvantaged community. Kadja has lived the struggles of native Trentonians - a city where the income of about 40% of the population is less than half the poverty line. Coming from that background, it makes sense that he supports policy that puts people first: — Funding initiatives to restore broken-down/abandoned buildings, make housing more affordable, utilize empty lots, and hold absentee landlords accountable for neglecting their tenants and their property. — Putting money directly into the Trenton community and our people, including investments in community anchors, local community small businesses, and even a guaranteed income pilot for Trenton residents. — Holding police accountable to the people through a civilian complaint review board - a holistic approach to public safety that treats the root causes of violence, instead of continuing to just respond violently to the symptoms. — Investing in trauma-responsive services and other crucial non-police intervention programs. Join us as we phonebank to support this young, progressive champion, and help him get Trenton on the right track!
