National Veterans Small Business Week is less than three weeks away! The celebration kicks off on?October 31. That week, SBA and its extensive partner network will honor the strength and resilience of the veteran-owned business community by hosting events across the country and sharing information about the resources available to veteran entrepreneurs.

About 96% of consumers are outside of the United States. This represents a big opportunity for businesses like Mid-State Aerospace, a minority and woman-owned manufacturing business in Kansas that Administrator Guzman visited this week with Representative Sharice Davids.

The business used a State Trade Expansion Program grant to grow international sales. The STEP grant program has helped thousands of small businesses obtain grants and find customers in the international marketplace. Through awards to states and territories, STEP helps small businesses overcome obstacles to exporting by providing grants to cover costs associated with entering and expanding into international markets.?

There are nearly 1,000 Small Business Development Centers throughout the United States and territories that offer business consulting and training to help entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses.

When Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist Nydia Gonz?lez saw a need for multi-disciplinary therapy services in Puerto Rico, she reached out to her local SBDC, which provided assistance on her business plan and financing proposal. She later founded Advanced Therapy Group with help from a commercial loan.
