People often ask me why I’m doing this. Why, in such a politically divisive time, in an increasingly dangerous time, I am putting myself out there and running for Congress.

The answer is pretty simple.

I want my kids and the kids in my neighborhood and across West Michigan to have a bright and prosperous future. I want the women and girls who come behind us to have more, not less rights. I want to pass on to our next generation a clean and livable world. I want safe communities for our children to play in.

And frankly, if you want something done right, just send in a busy working mom to get it done.

In Washington, I'll fight like a mother for families across West Michigan. I'll fight for safer communities, I'll fight for quality education, and most of all, I'll fight for women and girls across West Michigan. Women's rights are under attack like never before – and we're running against someone who wants to take women back 100 years. We need your help to get there.
