Letter from the Mayor
Dear Washingtonians,
It is that time of year again: time to get your annual flu shot. While?you can get the flu any time of the year, most cases happen in the fall and winter. Getting a flu shot can protect you from getting the flu and it can also make symptoms less severe if you do get the flu.?
The flu shot is for all people six months and older. Because the types of influenza viruses that the flu shot protects against can change each year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a yearly flu vaccine.
*This year, we have made it very easy to get your flu shot. It is available for free at all of our COVID Centers, and you do not need to make an appointment.* You can also contact your health care provider or a local clinic or pharmacy to get a flu shot.?
Do not put off getting your flu shot. Find the full COVID Center schedule HERE [ [link removed] ].?
Sincerely,
Muriel Bowser
