John,
This week, I joined Fox News Channel’s primetime show “The Ingraham Angle” to draw attention to the fight local districts are facing because of the SAFE-T Act. We also talked about how the extremism of JB Pritzker, Sean Casten, and Illinois Democrats is impacting the 2022 race.

In the interview, I told Laura Ingraham, “I am going to flip this seat.” I am confident that we can win, and I am doing everything I can - day in and day out - to make sure we do. But I need your help!
Nancy Pelosi and special interests groups are pouring money into Sean Casten’s campaign to make sure they hold on to this seat and continue with their extreme agenda in Washington. We don’t have much time to catch up to their fundraising! ([link removed]) We have a critical deadline coming up in 2 days!
Unlike Sean Casten - who has made a career out of benefiting himself and the special interests who fund his campaign - I am running to represent YOU.
I’m ready to take on Nancy Pelosi and the special interests in DC to make our streets safe, restore a strong economy.
Now is the time to get in this fight! Help me keep our message out loud and clear over the next three weeks with a donation in any amount TODAY! ([link removed])
Thank you,
Keith Pekau

DuPage Policy Journal: Sean Casten is disingenuous and hypocritical on climate change' after a 6,000 mile flight to combat climate change
According to the Washington Free Beacon ([link removed]) , Sean Casten traveled to Iceland in late August through early September alongside the Aspen Institute on the think tank's congressional trip. The Democrat's travel disclosures reveal that Casten flew business class from Chicago to Reykjavík, Iceland, and back—a roundtrip flight that totals 5,888 miles and emits more than 313,000 pounds of carbon dioxide, given that on average, planes produce 53.3 pounds of carbon dioxide per mile traveled. Casten's lodging took place at a luxury European hotel complete with private meals and a $5,000 total price tag.
This summer, redgreenandblue.org ([link removed]) referred to Casten as "Congress’ fiercest climate hawk" and noted he's a member of the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis.
The Beacon points out Casten did not actually need to travel thousands of miles on a gas-guzzling flight to meet with many of the climate "leaders" the Aspen Institute assembled, as a majority of the scholars he met with are based in the states. For example, the trip's schedule reveals a pair of roundtable discussions on day one of the trip featured Polar Institute senior fellow Sherri Goodman, Harvard University's Meghan O'Sullivan, and Rockefeller Foundation president Rajiv Shah, all of whom are based in the United States.
The Democrat has a history of successfully pushing for hundreds of billions of dollars in green energy spending while also holding a stake of up to $500,000 in Greenleaf Power, a Sacramento-based green energy company that will likely benefit from the spending, the Beacon says.
“Sean Casten is disingenuous and hypocritical on climate change," Pekau said in a press release. "The only impact he has had in Congress has been on his own bottom line. The combination of Casten’s insolent self-dealing and Biden’s distressing incompetence has been a disaster. I am running for Congress to restore common sense leadership to Washington DC…”
Congress voting data from FiveThirtyEight ([link removed]) shows Casten has voted with Biden 99% of the time since first joining Congress in 2019.

Jeffery Carter at Points and Figures Blog: It’s Over for the Economy, Deep Recession
How high is inflation? Inflation numbers are out today. ([link removed]) CPI is up 8.2%. The last three numbers are 9.1% and 8.3%, so look for Biden’s press secretary to say they are winning the battle on inflation. The core price index was steady at up .6%.Housing prices make up a large piece of CPI and many Americans have a lot of their personal wealth tied up in their home. Housing prices have cracked and are in a bear market. Real estate markets all over the country are frozen. Food prices are skyrocketing up by 1.2%.
Joe Biden tried to say we “might go into a small recession”. He’s an idiot and this economy is all on him. We are in a recession and we are going into a deep one. I don’t see anything changing until at a bare minimum 2026.
If the Biden Administration ([link removed]) didn’t do two things we wouldn’t be in as bad a shape as we are. They are:
1. A total all-out war on American fossil fuels
2. Massive increases in government spending
We would still have some inflation due to Covid. But, the deliberate actions of Biden and the Congressional Democrats put more fuel on the pyre and lit it.

Wirepoints.com: More things wrong with Illinois’ SAFE-T Act
The additional issues beyond the Act’s altered pre-trial detention standards are several:
1. The Act as currently adopted weakens the leeway of police to arrest for certain misdemeanor offenses including trespassing.
2. It undercuts fair play in police disciplinary proceedings in two ways that contribute to ongoing retirements and resignations of sworn officers and related staffing shortfalls in Illinois police and sheriff’s departments statewide: anonymous complaints and an end to sworn affidavits. This in turn has the potential over time to significantly compromise public safety as more and more police leave agencies statewide.
3. The SAFE-T Act also poses unreasonable risks to crime victims and other potential witnesses by weakening the rules for charged suspects out on electronic monitoring before trial.
4. In addition, the Act and approved amendments to it have so far failed to address operational and budgetary challenges of requiring that law enforcement agencies implement widespread usage of body-worn cameras.

Get Involved
Politicians in Washington, DC like Sean Casten, and Nancy Pelosi have put special interests, party politics, and extreme agendas ahead of doing what’s best for the people they’re supposed to represent.
Keith Pekau is the common sense, local leader we need in Washington to take on the extreme politicians. His record of results stands in stark contrast to the failed, divisive politics and rigid ideology of Sean Casten.
Whether you choose to contribute, knock on doors, or host a yard sign on your front lawn, every little bit counts and helps my campaign inch closer to victory.
